Dairy-Free

So recently I've decided to change my everyday lifestyle a bit. I have started rnning. Yes...me...running. My brother could not believe it. I twittered about it (yes...I did) and my brother responded with "I'm amazed." What a dork! So I started with only a 1/2 mile because that's the longest I can run on the treadmill without my knee starting to throb. I figure if I'm running outside it wont be as hard of impact on my knee so I could run farther before it starts to hurt. But I'm going to start doing my physical therapy again to try to get it better so I can run more and also might get a knee brace. It's only my left knee....hopefully my right one doesn't start acting up too. It used to. But we'll see.

And the second big change is as the title indicates...no dairy. I have known that I'm lactose-intolerant for a long time and so I don't drink milk, but I have a lot of other dairy and almost every night I have a stomach ache from it. I've gotten so used to it that I ignore them now. But I was sick for a week about a month back and I didn't have any dairy while sick (it wasn't on purpose either!) and then the week after I felt SO much better. And so...I've decided to try to completely cut it from my diet. It is a LOT harder then you would think. I made pasta last night and realized I couldn't put cheese on it or butter on it and mom made chili and I couldn't put sour cream on it or cheese...man sucks. Last night I was like searching around the house for food and couldn't eat anything!! I was so frustrated!!!

Anyways, I'm trying to remind myself constantly that I can't have dairy. Tried a soy white mocha at Starbucks today. It was actually pretty good! I can't think of it like a white mocha cause it tastes nothing like it but its still pretty good! Anyways...thats the recent news in my life. haha Oh spring break...
